Across the world, people are becoming more aware of our environmental crisis. From the recent London Extinction Rebellion, which all but shut down the capital of one of the wealthiest cities in the world, to the unsung heroism of countries like Morocco and Kenya, with their plastic bag bans.

The environmentally-friendly bottles from Son Tinh

While Vietnam may not always be as quick to act as other countries, change is happening. While the governmental ban of Hue bureaucrats using plastic bags and bottles at the workplace is great, it is the individual citizens of Vietnam making the larger steps.
Places like S&L Diner and 3T Store changing the way we shop is one major key to benefiting the environment in the future. Son Markus Madeja, the founder of Son Tinh, states that “The only way to get out of this environmental disaster is to reduce your consumption, focus on the important things, and choose wisely.”

Driven by a desire to reduce the footprint of our disposable society, we’re taking a stand. In 2012, we made the decision to re-design our bottles and work closely with French glassmakers Saverglass to create a bottle that is eco-friendly, using a production process that lessens the harm done to the environment.
While we’re happy with the work that we’re producing a more environmentally-friendly bottle, we are fully aware that it’s continued production of new bottles is far from ideal.
Son Tinh Original Ruou will reserve the right to refuse bottles that are deemed unrecyclable or where there is a belief the returnee is not a genuine customer.
