Transparent glass vases are well suited for various flowers with a diverse colour palette. Colour scheming, however, isn’t everyone’s strength. Instead, arrange your favourite flower or leaves with eye-catching shapes and sturdy stems. Silver dollar branches have thick, round, and silver-coloured leaves. Their symmetry catches the eye, and you’ll find them dotted on fresh bouquets. They also look particularly beautiful in an empty Son Tinh bottle. 

If you find the idea of sticking to one type of flower boring, start by combining two different species and two different colours. Choose between small flower vases or arrange many flowers in a large vase.  Complimentary pairs to start with are pink and white, yellow and red, white and red or purple and yellow. 

While a bouquet may look nice, it usually won’t last long if left untouched. Preserve the flower’s colour and with a bit of creativity. Choose the freshest, brightest flowers as a central figure between the green leaves and small flowers in your recycled jars and bottles. It should have a strong, sturdy stem and a striking colour say, pink, red, or purple.  Place it in the centre of the bouquet. Place green and/or small branches into the surrounding bottles, as you would in a standard bouquet. Avoid flowers with opposing colours. You don’t want to detract from the centre-piece!

Choosing flowers with the same color tone will give your vase a sense of harmony. When combining flowers with the same colour, aim for: – White roses, white hydrangeas, baby flowers. – Roses, peonies, carnations. – Sunflowers, wild sunflowers, tulips. The secret to long-lasting flowers is to cut the beveled branches, allowing the flowers to absorb more water.
